POST NO. 202 / MOVING TO FRANCE

A bit belatedly I see I've now written over 200 posts to this blog since it started exactly 2 years ago. (Plus quite a few comment responses, a couple of which were, well, rather long.)

I don't know if that's any kind of achievement but it's certainly become a part of my working life.

That life will continue, under sunnier skies, when we move house in a few days' time from North-East England to South-West France. The removals firm says the distance is 983 miles (and all of it south). We shall miss Kirkbymoorside and North Yorkshire, but we've been up up in these parts for over 20 years, and though we've loved it, we're ready to make the change. Digby is near-completely deaf these days so he won't be troubled by receiving expressions of admiration in French from strangers in the street.

Because of the move - which entails getting a new internet service provider and a new phone line as well as having our office desks and everything else taken off our hands for a week or so - this may be the last blog post till after Easter. Maybe.

    Bonne chance Michael!

J'espère que France est bon pour votre écriture. Vous n'allez pas parce qu'Al Kooper vient à un endroit près de vous bientôt?

I spent most of last year in the south west near Bezier, I am certain you will have a great time. On that matter did you see Jonathan Meades two part documentary on BBC called Magnetic North, it is quite interesting for those of us who love the south.
