Next comes Herne Bay Little Theatre, Kent, on Thursday April 23 (Box Office: 01227 366004, tickets £12, £10 concessions).

Two days after that I'm back in the States, at a club called One Longfellow Square in Portland Maine (Box Office: 207-239-1855 / www.onelongfellowsquare.com, tickets $18 in advance, $20 on the night).

Hi, I saw your Poetry of the Blues talk a few years ago and really enjoyed it. I was thinking of coming again to another of these talks but was wondering if it will just be the same stuff or have new and different material in it?

Hello. Well, that depends when and where you came to my event before. And which one you're thinking of coming to this time. The music selection has been honed since the first run of talks, and the footage wasn't part of the event at one time. But in any case sometimes I vary the music - and I always vary what gets discussed. And of course after I get hold of the new album it may (or may not) offer a track that begs to be included, for better or worse.

So as I say, whether it'll be "the same stuff" depends on where and when you came to which. Let me know!

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your speedy reply. I came to the Liverpool talk a few years ago but couldn't make the more recent Birkenhead event. I was thinking of coming to the night in Southport though as I can pop up on the train. If, as you say, things usually vary anyway, then I probably will, I'm sure it'll be good.

Oh, just started the McTell book - and loving it, it's sent me straight back to the records. It'd be great to hear you speak on that too at some point in the future. All the best.
