MUST BE WHO?

Bob, as my venerable correspondent McHenry Boatride points out that I should make clear, has indeed acknowledged in the Bill Flanagan interview (very recently published in Big Issue etc.) that he owes his arrangement of 'Must Be Santa' to this contemporary Texan group.

  1. Cracking good fun whatever which way!

(But surely the heading should be 'Must be who?'. The subject of 'be' is an understood 'it'; the relative pronoun stands in apposition to the subject, and thus requires a nominative.)

[I'm not expecting you to publish this!)

  2. I think you're probably right about the whom/who question.

Michael - Those who don't know you better, like those Expecting Rain types, might think that you were having a go at Dylan here. Perhaps you could just make it clear that Bob acknowledged the source of this arrangement in an interview with Bill Flanagan.

I've made amendments (though not necessarily amends).

What a blast from the past I've just had looking at your blog. Brave Combo !!!! I haven't thought about them since my late 1970's days at university in Denton, Texas. Holy Shit...didn't Dylan try to sound just like them. They were a fantastic band and hearing them again just now brought back many fond memories of years ago. So thanks, Michael for making my day.
