Bob took part in a Reality TV show called Pawn Stars a few days ago; this is it. He's comporting himself more youthfully and relaxedly than on stage, it seems to me. He's 69 years old. Of course he has the advantage that the other guy is as charmless and aesthetically unappealing as a cheeseburger.

hi Michael
something of an insult to cheeseburgers!
On the youthful front it's interesting to see Bob's autumn tour is on the college campus circuit.
May this be seen as a response to the oft heard criticisms of big stadia tours?
Wouldn't it be good if he did the same in the UK and Europe?

Funny that he puts his shades on in order to get a better look at Self Portrait, funny that when the guy from the programme tells him, "This is your album, right?", Dylan replies, "I think I see that" and funny that before he writes his name he asks the guy, who's standing there with clearly nothing else apart from the album, if he has anything else he wants him to sign.
A small gem.

I pretty sure Bob said "Is there anything else you want me to say?".

I love that peace of film, btw.

I think Bob's charming. I'm not going to read up about the history of the series, or whether Cheeseboy is a lovable US daytime TV fave paid millions of dollars a year. I just liked seeing how unstiff Bob was, how easily he did his bit, with effortless charisma and grace. And yes, I thought it was funny that the LP was Self Portrait…

This is pure Americana. Pawn Stars is the most popular
program on the History network and you know Bob watches the TV. I watch it too and the only show
I ever watch is Pawn Stars...

No offence to you, Jack - I'm not trying to shoot the messenger - but this is supposed to be history?!?!?! Cheesebrain describes Bob as "an icon of Rock’n’Roll for the last 20 years…" As another Dylan expert has commented by e-mail: "Wow, yes: Under the Red Sky forwards, Bob’s big rock’n’roll period..."

hey Michael~ It's unbelievable what they try to
"Pawn" off has History. Chumlee couldn't even name
one Bob Dylan song, but he knew he was a big star
(with some real charisma!). I know it's ironic.
The sad truth is that Chumlee knows more about Bob
Dylan than your average American. Rick, the owner of the pawn shop, did pay 50 dollars for that used copy
of Self Portrait. I got like 3 sealed copies(first editions)
on vinyl that I need to pawn so I can afford to go on fall
tour(don't you dare miss it!).

Hi folks,
Great clip. Didn't Bob say, on seeing Self Portrait, "I think I drew that"? And I expect they were subscription shades that he put on to see the album.

Hi Michael

Point of interest:
Bob is sporting an "Amsterdam Head Shop" tee. I wonder if he still partakes in the occasional spliff?

Yes, and I wonder if the pope is still occasionally a Catholic...
