How did Bob Dylan’s version of Americanness impact British culture?

PS. About the Nighthawk Books event at 2pm on Sunday April 3 in Highland Park, New Jersey:
I don't normally do bookshop readings these days but this is the independent bookstore founded and owned by that excellent blogging critic (and Dylan enthusiast) Steven Hart, and it's a great pleasure to have been able to include his shop in my tour. The proper title of my event there is:
Bob Dylan & Beyond: a Journey Among Geniuses of American Music
(readings from The Bob Dylan Encyclopedia+from Hand Me My Travelin’ Shoes).

Hello Michael,

My name is Jonathan, I am a Phd student in Trinity College Dublin –my thesis is on Bob Dylan. I've noticed that you haven't booked a venue for your Spring tour in Dublin yet, and I am just writing to ask, if you would be interested, would you like to speak in Trinity for one of your dates? I’ve recently emailed the relevant administration team about the idea, and I haven’t gotten word back (I only contacted them yesterday so they undoubtedly haven’t had a chance yet), but I wanted to ask if you would be interested as well, so I know whether it would be worth pursuing. If you haven’t got the time in your schedule or would prefer not to speak in Dublin I understand completely. I would consider it a privilege to hear a talk from you however, and I’m sure Trinity will feel the same way. If you would like any contact details of mine please don’t hesitate to ask. Also, feel free not to post this on your blog entry –I simply saw it as the easiest way to contact you! I hope the idea appeals to you.

Best regards,

Jonathan.

Dear Jonathan
Thank you for your message - and I appreciate your asking. I should love to include Trinity College in my tour of Ireland (though there are very few possible dates left). Why don't you send another message, this time giving your e-mail address please? I shan't publish it, but I can then continue this dialogue in private. Thank you.
