BOB AT THE WHITE HOUSE

The comment from Ewen MacAskill is the kind of thing which makes me wonder what qualifies someone to write about music for a news service.
Obviously Dylan's voice from the very start has put off many people, but the comment about how Dylan employs his guitar on the song is clearly ignorant, and points up that the writer knows nothing (really, no hyperbole intended) about music.

I have to say, I loved this! It's quite melodic - in fact, he must have listened to the original several times before putting this together, because it's the most respectful and organised version of an old song in ages.

That suits it! It's brief, and sparse, but quite gorgeous. But you know what? Wouldn't it have been nice to see Joanie up there beside him? THIS was a song she could easily sing along to.

By the way, has Bob moved on from his Vincent Price phase to a newer one: Frankie Howerd?

Titter ye not!

Shouldn't say that, though. I thought he was magnificent...
